Rules

SENIOR GAME - RULES AND REGULATIONS 2026 & 2027 This competition is being run to provide enjoyment and entertainment to all senior players aged 60 and over. The Participant shall, during the course of the Tournament, observe and comply with all rules and regulations of the organizer(s) of any soccer matches, and all directions given by the Tournament officers. The Participant acknowledges and agrees that: TEAMS: Nine (9) players per side, including the goalkeeper, with a maximum of 16 players per squad. Players must be 60 years of age or over, with only three (3) players aged 58 or 59 allowed in each team during the competition. Players should also bring their own ID to the field for random checking and verification. Lending or loaning of ACSA register players from other teams will be allowed with a maximum of four (4) players. However, the limit of three (3) players aged 58 or 59 per team during a game still applies. GAMES: 30 minutes per half. 1st game: 8:00 am – 9:05 am, 2nd game: 9:15 am – 10:20 am, 3rd game: 10:30 am – 11:35 am, and 4th game: 11:45 am – 12:50 pm. No stoppage time will be added for any reason. Games will start strictly at scheduled times. SUBSTITUTION: Rolling/return substitutions are allowed and can only occur when the game is stopped and with the referee’s permission. TACKLES: Sliding tackles and/or tackles from behind are not permitted. NO SHOULDER BUMPING OR NUDGING: Deliberate shoulder bumping or nudging is not allowed. NO SWEARING OR RACIAL REMARKS: This kind of behaviors will not be tolerated. VIOLENT CONDUCT: Violent conduct/behaviors will not be accepted. FREE/CORNER KICKS: Opponents must stand no less than five meters from the ball. FREE KICKS: Indirect free kicks only. THROW-IN: A throw-in must be taken with both hands; the ball may not be kicked. OFFSIDE RULE: The offside rule will be applied. SIN BIN: No sin bin. However, if a player receives two yellow cards, they will be sent off (on a second yellow card) or can be shown a straight red card in the same game. Any additional sanctions will not normally be applied but are subject to our Disciplinary Panel’s decisions. SHORT OF PLAYERS: The minimum number of players for each team is six (6). If your team has fewer than 6 players to start a game, your team will be considered to have forfeited the game, and 3 points and 3 goals will be awarded to the opposing team. If any team is short of players for a game, those available players should still attend so that a friendly game can be arranged. TRANSFER OF PLAYERS: Transfers are allowed throughout the whole season, subject to a transfer fee of $50.00 being payable to ACSA prior to joining a different team. INSURANCE: NO sports/personal injury insurance is included in this Senior Game. It is the individual player’s own responsibility to ensure they are fully covered by their own policy if required. Any medical costs/expenses that may be incurred through injury are solely at the player’s own risk in these games. ACSA is registered as a non-profit sporting organization.
